A Pre-Enactment of the Apocalypse 2008

Aster Tide Auk was written, prepared, and performed in 2009 in collaboration with Irene Moon, Elena Grajek, Meg McLaughlin, Dionne Lee, Nick Garofoli, Justin Windman, Jason Blandford,Samantha Pribish, and Rebecca Frasier. It was performed with the support of the Institute for Electronic Arts in Alfred, NY at the Knight Club in Alfred, NY on the Alfred University campus and performed again at the Gallery at Potential Life Studios in Rochester, NY.

Its tite Aster Tide refers to the underlying themes of lifecycle, death, and time as well as the human and animal relationship to nature. Both events included pre-made music and video which was used with live performance of sound and costumed actors who cast their shadow behind the projection curtain.

Irene Moon is a performance and sound artist based in Talahasee, Florida who was invited as a visiting artist to the IEA in 2009. A CD including an audio recording of Aster Tide Auk taken a the Gallery for Potential Life performance is for sale here. which wasFollowing the performances, a book was published by the IEA including an interview conducted by Kathryn Drury in 2007 and photo documentation taken by Peer Bode, and Devin Henry.
